Today, July 16, 2019, The Look of Love proudly celebrates our One Year Anniversary of sponsoring FREE haircare and salon services to children and youth in need and providing free training and consultations to caregivers and managers of group homes. With nearly 75 free services provided to youth and their caregivers, we continue to make a positive impact for the youth of our communities and look forward to extending our services and support to a greater number of children and youth in the years to come.

To our salon partners, our volunteers, those that pray for the success of our ministry, and to those who give financially, your generous support on this day and every day allows The Look of Love to fulfill our mission and continue our good work. Thank you for your partnership!

The Look of Love: Haircare for Foster Children was founded in 2016, and launched on “Global Hug Your Child Day” 2018. We are a new nonprofit organization that specializes in providing FREE ongoing, multicultural, haircare and salon services for abused and neglected children in the foster care system, and homeless youth in search of employment.

As a new haircare and salon program for foster children and homeless youth, our primary goal is to provide free haircare services to children and youth in need. We strive to build self-esteem, provide love and encouragement, and despite the pains of the past, inspire the children to pursue their dreams.

UPDATE ADDED: 9-6-2025

The Look of Love was conceived by Niya Parks in 2017 and lancuhed in 2018 as the first organization of it's kind.

Our founder sufferred layers of racist attacks for her organization inadvertently exposing institutional racism in our nation's foster care system, but Parks remains determined and hopes to be able to support not just foster children, but everyone in the world that is suffering and needs the supportive assistance that this God-given organization provides.

This organization is God 's organization and the gates of hell will not prevail against it. No weapon that is formed aginst this organization shall prosper, and Parks and her volunteers and staff will continue to be a blessing to everyone.

She hopes to partner with Arc Initiatives DC to bring about possitive changes in the world and bless those in need.

"God is on the throne and He is her best friend, and will help her emmensly in accomplishing these positive opportunities for the whole world community." In Jesus' name this shall stand eternally!
